IN-GAME BIO

Someone suggested re-making one's main character as a different archetype with similar power sets. I had two main heroes, a force field/psy/psy defender (BubbleYumm) and an ice/ice/elec blaster (White Sapphire). So I decided to combine the two, and created BubbleMint.

CHARACTER INFO

It was totally Liz's idea! Well, sorta. We happened to be on a team together and she mentioned how someone else had mentioned the idea of remaking your main toon. The idea was you'd pick similar powersets, but not exactly the same. At the time I had two main heroes: BubbleYumm and White Sapphire. So instead of just remaking one of them, I combined the two! Bubbleyumm is a Force Field Defender, and White Sapphire is an Ice Blaster. How to combine them? Well, Ice/ controllers have some of the same powers as Ice blasters, only bigger! And instead of doing Force Field again exactly, I took /Sonic, which is similar in many ways. Thus, BubbleMint was born!

Honestly this is another case where if I knew then what I know now, I may not have put these two powersets together. BubbleYumm started out as a joke, I picked the sets I did because "Ha ha, bubbles and pink/psy powers." Well.. Ice and Sonic don't really go well together either. So I guess in that way she's a pretty good mirror of one of her "parents".

Minty was my first controller to make it into the higher levels. I'd experienced "pets" before with my Mastermind, Spirit. Spirit not only has the Mastermind henchmen, but she also has the Dark Miasma pet, whom I lovingly call Fluffy. Fluffy is an excellent pet, so I was very excited when Minty finally got her pet, Jack Frost. Unfortunately, Jack is not nearly as good a pet as Fluffy. Where Fluffy is content to attack at range (and therefore stay in range of buffs and heals, and stay out of range of the more powerful foe attacks), Jack almost immediately runs into combat, and therefore dies. Frequently. He's also fairly squishy, so that doesn't help. Don't get me wrong, I love Jack, but ... he can be quite brainless sometimes.

All in all I do love Minty as a character (she's almost as cute as Yumm!), and I enjoy playing her, but I think there are several other controller combinations out there that I am going to enjoy a lot more. Created: 6/17/07. Ding 50: 9/13/08.
