CHARACTER INFO
White Sapphire started life normally enough. She was born and raised in the suburbs just outside of Paragon City, had a loving family, and did well in school. But her passion lay in magic. She studied magic from a very young age, and finally gained some mastery over Ice Magic. It didn't take long for her to take to Paragon's streets, fighting crime along side a multitude of other heroes. She wasn't terribly effective on her own, but there was no shortage of companions with whom she could take on villains. She even formed a Super Group with some friends. Life was pretty good until the time known as "A Shadow of the Past.". Suddenly most of the Super Group's powers were diminished, and all of her friends left the city. But not before they blamed her for their troubles, and generally destroyed White Sapphire's esteem. She tried to fight crime on her own, but her ineffectiveness became readily apparent. She was defeated frequently, and quickly gained a reputation among villains of being easily defeated. Her confidence waned until she hung up her cape, and quit being a hero. She became bitter and cold, colder than the Ice Magic she controlled. She had few friends in the city, and only one she saw on a regular basis: Klaus Alteron. He himself was constantly agitated and annoyed, so White Sapphire and Klaus found each other's company to be oddly tolerable. Eventually they became great friends, Klaus helping to pull White Sapphire out of her shell. When Sapphire saved the Terra Volta Reactor Core from destruction, and found her powers changed, she actually became a more effective hero. She now roams the city with Klaus quite often, he being the only person able to melt her icy heart.
White Sapphire was literally my first toon. I started playing the game in May of 2004 on my friend's account. White Sapphire started as an elec/elec blaster, and was about 4 feet tall. Then I decided I couldn't wait for Kyffin to get off the game to play, so I bought my own account. White Sapphire was rebuilt into ice/ice, had a totally new costume, and new attitude. Playing her was actually fun until i3, when the nerfs sent my Super Group, the Crescent Claws, packing. They were upset about the game changes and took it out on me, attaching a lot of bitterness to this character. I couldn't play her for a long time. Liz would ask me to log on as WS because her character Klaus was built specifically on Protector to team with WS. Every time I played as her I became frustrated and had to leave the game. WS attempted the respec trial dozens of times, no exaggeration, and failed every time. When she did finally pass, it was with Klaus's help. I was still sure we were going to fail, with the clusterfuck team we were on (okay, only two real asshats on the team, everyone else was cool).. but amazingly we passed. Liz then stayed up with me until 4am helping me come up with a build that I would enjoy. The effort paid off; now I enjoy playing WS as one of my main toons. |
BUILD
My favorite combo has always been Ice Patch, Aim, Build Up, Ice Storm, Blizzard. I recently picked up Frozen Aura [most people think FA is horrible, but it works for an Ice Blaster with a lot of single target damage, provided you don't try to use it on sleep-resistant enemies] and Shiver, so I think that combination may become Frozen Aura, Ice Patch, Shiver, Aim, Build Up, Ice Storm, Blizzard. Between Shiver and Ice Storm, the enemies' run speed should be utterly floored, so they should be forced to stay under the storm. The Ice Slick and the knockdown in Blizzard should also keep them falling when they do try to run away. It's actually probably overkill, but hey, that's a Blaster's middle name ;)
